Shrimp in Moranga (Pumpkin)
Shrimp in Moranga (Pumpkin), is a typical dish of Brazilian seaside cuisine, it is delicious and served with a moranga type pumpkin, stuffed with shrimp and Catupiry which is a typical Brazilian cheese.
Camarão na moranga
Ingredients
- 1 kg of medium shrimp
- 4 spoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion
- 5 seedless tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 can of cream without the fiero (milk) only the creamy part
- 300 g of Regueijao (Replacement: 150g cream cheese and 150g robiola)
- 1 Pumpkin
- Taste Parsley
- 3 tablespoons of ketchup
Method
Step 1
Remove the lid and seeds from the pumpkin

Wash and wrap in foil and cook in medium oven (180 ° C) for 45 minutes
Step 4
In a pan heat the olive oil and fry the garlic and onion, add the shrimp and cook for 5 minutes

Add chopped tomatoes, pepper, salt and ketchup and cook for another 20 minutes
Step 6
Turn off the heat and add the cream and parsley
Step 7
Mix well and add the last Requeijao (instead: 150g cream cheese and 150g robiola)
Step 8
Sprinkle some of the requeijao inside the pumpkin and pour the shrimp cream (at the end, close with the lid and / or decorate as you like with prawns)
Step 9
I recommend serving this dish with Rice.
