Pastel de Carne
Pastel de Carne is a food consisting of a flour-based dough that has the shape of an envelope, filled and then fried.
It is one of the foods that are most often found in carts and popular shopping malls in Brazil, Portugal and also in the rest of the world in various names.
Pastaes are generally small, unlike tortas and empadões, and can be sweet, or salty, like meat and cheese pasteis.
Ingredients
- - MIXTURE - MASS -
- 1 kg of wheat flour with yeast
- 200 g of margarine
- 1 spoonful of salt
- 100 ml of water at room temperature
- - STUFFED -
- 1 kg of minced meat 2 times
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper always to taste
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 small green pepper
- 2 Boiled Eggs
- 1 small Latina of Corn Quantity to taste
- 1 small Latina of Olives to taste
- 1 medium onion
- Paprika
- 2 medium diced tomatoes
Method

- MIXTURE - MASS -
Step 2
Mix 900 g of flour with the margarine, add the salt and finally the water
Step 3
Let stand for 1 hour, covered with a cloth
Step 4
- STUFFED -
Step 5
Put the minced meat in a pan and bring to the fire.
Step 6
When it starts to cook, stir occasionally, it will start to release water
Step 7
When all the meat is already pale, start putting on the toppings
Step 8
First the crushed garlic, paprika and black pepper, after they have been incorporated, put the onion and pepper, corn, tomatoes, egg and corn.

Continue stirring so that the ground coffee detaches us from each other as it dries

Finally add the salt and mix

Everything will be ready when the filling is dry. After that leave to cool.

- ASSEMBLY OF THE CAKE -

Roll out the dough not too thin, and cut with a stainless steel cup or knife.

Put a small portion of meat in the center, pass the water with your finger on the edges of the dough, fold and tighten to prevent it from opening during frying, which should be in very hot soybean oil for about 15/20 seconds the time the dough cooks

Then place the Pastel on fried paper.

This pastel can be frozen and this mass becomes very light and oil free. The remaining 100 g of flour are used to prevent the dough from sticking to the cylinder or work table
